Following a scorching month of July, August came on much cooler and wetter, which extended the ripening cycle by two weeks. September was fortunately on our side, which allowed for good maturity at harvest.
The wines only revealed themselves after the malolactic fermentation that occurred quite late.
2006 has surprising vitality with a minerality and particularly vibrant fruit. If the village appellations can be pleasant to drink young, the premier crus should be laid down at least 6 -8 years.
